To say we fan-girled over the thought of having Melissa Rycroft Strickland on the show is a gross understatement. We were totally over the moon, ga-ga elated when she agreed. Why? Because we love her. Because she and Sarah share a bond like no other- Bachelorland Sisterhood. And that stuff runs DEEP.

We love Melissa because she is (kind of ) like us. (Except that she’s an ex Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, Winner of Bachelor and DWTS All Stars) but other that those accolades, she is doing carpool, and running kids to the dentist and just being REAL. You’ll get that in the podcast. She’s just REAL.

Which is so refreshing and weird when you have “known” someone as a character through all these different seasons of her lived played out on television. First the Dallas Cowboys Making the Team, where she was a “Rookie Candidate” vying for one of the prized spots on the sidelines. We watched her learn how to “sexy walk” and learn how to pose in front of the camera, then we REALLY got to know her when she was on The Bachelor Season with Jason Mesnick. WE WERE DEVASTATED when he broke up with her during the After the Final Rose to pursue a relationship with the runner up.

Little did we know that we would see more of Melissa, as she danced back into our hearts on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars placing 3rd and then going back for the All Star show where she would win Grand Champion. It was the sweetest redemption to see her do that….

Now she’s ,married to Ty, her longtime love and they have three kiddos and a podcast together. (The podcast could totally be her 4th child, believe me we know… ) She frequents Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Making the Team, and various other opportunities as they come her way. We LOVED getting to know her, and can’t wait to see what you think as we Say it Southern with Melissa Rycroft Strickland.


